The serum we use in all our BIOCUTIS® skin products, collected from live snails, makes our product for acne treatment a powerful antimicrobial peptides acne cream that acts on different types of bacteria commonly found in human skin infections such as: Escherichia Coli, Staphylococcus Aureus, Pseudomona Aeruginosa and Propionibacterium Acnes.
Pathogens such as bacteria and viruses enter the body through breaks in your skin, or when they find a rich environment for their development such as in clogged and broken sebaceous glands within the hair follicles (acne infections).
As they gain access to the blood stream they cause an increased immune system reaction. This activity interrupts the repair and healing process of skin that has been damaged, and interfere the normal lay down of your skin cells. Additionally, we see evidence of erythema (redness) around the affected site, as well as some superficial edema (swelling) and an excited production and lay down of collagen (scars).
The human immune response is a two-pronged attack. Innate immunity identifies infectious agents by their pattern or structure, and mounts a broad, rapid response. Phagocytic cells (such as neutrophils and macrophages) and natural killer cells are released to fight the infection.
A second form of immune response, adaptive (or acquired) immunity, takes several days to gear up its more targeted attack. Adaptive immunity recognizes previous contact with a specific microbe and directs its defense against that specific invader with antibodies and T-cells. Because many infections spread quickly, a fully functioning innate response is crucial to the health of an infected individual.
The snail serum contains specific peptides with anti-microbial properties. These small portions of a protein provide the body’s first line of defense against invading bacteria and keep fast-moving infections in check. They also signal the immune system to mount a full-blown attack.
Pharmaceutical antibiotics versus natural antibiotics. Pharmaceutical antibiotics are frequently used to reduce the number of bacteria but they often lead to bacterial resistance.
Acne Cream stimulates secretion of antimicrobial peptides
By using BIOCUTIS® skin care products now to guard against resistant bacteria you will be able to use pharmaceutical antibiotics latter if you have to face emergency situations. Studies published by several dermatologists have revealed that acne-causing bacteria, called Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes), have developed strains that resist treatment by both systemic and topical forms of erythromycin, the active ingredient in many prescription acne medications.
Other studies have shown that at least one out of four acne patients have some strains of P. acnes which are resistant to tetracycline, erythromycin and clindamycin and are less sensitive to minocycline and doxycycline than in the past. The clinical significance is not entirely clear in those who have small numbers of resistant strains, but can be associated with treatment failure in those with high numbers of resistant P. acnes.
The natural antibiotics in the snail serum have continued to be effective in killing bacteria that attacks the skin of the snail (similar to the human skin) for tens of thousands of years. By blocking the microbial pathway to the blood stream, the serum allow your immune system to heal the damage in an environment similar to that in which a broken bone heals inside your body.
Some strains of bacteria mutate and become resistant to known pharmaceutical antibiotics. Bacteria, like all life forms, follow the simple rules of natural selection. Genetic changes that help an organism survive and reproduce in a challenging environment will be passed down to its progeny and thus become more prevalent. Bacteria cells can reproduce every 20 minutes; therefore, genetic change is very quick for them. Since even the most common bacteria become resistant to antibiotics within 2 to 3 months, acne sufferers face repeated trips to the dermatologist for new antibiotic prescriptions. Darwinism, or “survival of the fittest,” has created micro-organisms which cannot be killed by normal antibiotics.
Effectiveness of Acne Cream
The effectiveness of the BIOSKINFORTE acne cream is due to deep penetrating into the middle layer of the skin (the dermis), of it’s biological ingredients. They are powerful biologically active molecules contained naturally in the secretions of land snails: protein enzymes (see: enzymes in acne cream), copper peptides, proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycans (glycoconjugates in acne cream) that act as biological activators of both the elimination of dead and damaged skin cells and the renewal of healthy cells (by promoting fibroblast proliferation).
Our acne cream, lotion and gel (BIOSKINFORTE, BIOACNECARE and BIOSKINCLEAR) act in a way similar to exfoliation, eliminating dead cells by enzyme “digestion” of damaged tissues. They also destroy pathogens, heal and regenerate damaged tissues. They nourish your skin and protect it from free radicals. Improve the skin’s elasticity, and leave it silky soft and soothed.
Once inside the follicle the glycoproteins in the cream (or gel) will trigger the formation of new elastic cells, collagen and pigment, filling in scar cavities. They will also shrink and replace the old fibrous collagen formed to repair damaged tissues. Soon new ‘invisible’ hair, known as lanugo, will come through the restored hair follicles in those areas. The products will also “pump” up the cells and the “ground substances” in the skin (fewer or diminished wrinkles).
