Natural Skin Care Products: Take care of your Aging Skin

by Cynthia Alleyne

Taking care of our skin as you age is an important part of our overall health. Aging makes our skin sag and wrinkle. But, it also makes it less resistant to external factors such as pollution and UV radiation.

UV damage is one of the biggest reasons for premature aging. Not only can it cause hyperpigmentation, but it can lead to premature wrinkling, dryness, and even skin cancer. Learning how to avoid and combat the problems caused by UV radiation is an essential part of aging skin care.

Tip One - Moderate Sunbathing

UV exposure leads to free radicals, which are lead to the destruction of healthy cells. To avoid this, you need moderate to the amount of time you spend out in the sun. Even though you think that a nice tan gives your skin a healthy glow, it is actually considered sun damage.

If you want to get a sun-kissed look, you would be better off using a self tanning lotion instead. Don't forget that sun damage is cumulative. Young skin withstands damage better, however, in a couple of years you'll have wished you didn't spend so much time out in the sun.

Tip Two - SPF your Skin

Don't go outdoors unless you are wearing sunscreen. You'll simply need to choose a sunscreen that has SPF30 or higher. Once you've put on the sunscreen, reapply often to maintain the product's protection level.

If you're using natural skin care products, make sure that you don't stop using a traditional sunscreen. Some natural products can repair the damage done by solar exposure, but they can never replace a good sunscreen product.

You can also shield your skin by using protective clothing. Wear wide-brimmed hats and long sleeved shirts in a light weight fabric. Don't forget to also protect your eyes by using sunglasses.

Tip Three -Antioxidants Rule

Antioxidant skin care is a great idea for any anti aging routine. UV radiation produces free radicals, and antioxidants can help neutralize their effect. You can get hold of antioxidants through the consumption of certain foods or by applying antioxidant skin creams.

Foods that are rich in antioxidants include fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. When picking which foods to eat, don't just stick your favorite produce, but try a wide variety of colors to make your diet more exciting.

Berries are the best kinds of fruits. Blueberries, strawberries and raspberries are high in antioxidants, minerals, vitamins and fiber.

In fact, the benefits obtained from this fruit are so amazing that they are a common ingredient in a number of skin care products. Sometimes they are accompanied by other amazing ingredients such as Vitamin E and Vitamin C and antioxidant serums.

BIOBEAUTYBALM is a great addition to your skin care routine because it contains ingredients that can absorb UV radiation. It is also a healing balm for sun damaged skin and aging skin. BIOBEAUTYBALM is a great antioxidant cream capable of treating all skin types gentle and effectively.
