Acne bacteria proliferates in skin pores when sebum can not flow outside and pores are clogged. Then acne inflammation occurs and depending on the severity of the bacteria proliferation a person may present several different lesion types.
Smaller red bumps are called papules. Larger red bumps are called nodules.
