How acupuncture with CONTENT

can soothe and strengthen sensitive skin
Laura Jones, acupuncturist at CONTENT

At Pai we know that calming, strengthening and protecting sensitive skin is more than just good products.

This blog is full of simple diet, environment, and lifestyle changes you can make to improve skin health. However, there are a number of holistic treatments that can also be helpful.

Although acupuncture is still relatively niche, it is considered one of the most effective of these treatments and its health benefits are known worldwide.

Laura Jones acupuncture expert and local therapist at CONTENT in London, tells us the science behind acupuncture and the incredible results that she experienced firsthand:

“Acupuncture and its effects can best be described using traditional Chinese medicine, which regards the skin as a map that reflects what is going on in the body.

Skin health is most affected by the digestive (stomach and spleen) and detoxification organs (liver and kidneys).

Weak digestion prevents the body from efficiently absorbing nutrients from food, which leaves the skin malnourished, dry and irritable.

This excessive alcohol consumption, spicy / processed foods and stress can also overload the detoxification organs, leading to an excess of toxins that cause the skin to flare up.

These torches can manifest themselves as hypersensitivity, acne and rosacea.

Acupuncture stimulates, strengthens and cleanses the organs involved and increases the blood supply to the skin.

This cycle brings with it nutrients, cells needed for repair and lymphatic drainage stimulators, which results in a smoother, clearer and more vivid complexion.

Acupuncture has also been shown to increase the number of white blood cells, strengthen the immune system and serotonin levels, relax and lift mood and have a positive effect on body and soul! "

While the theory behind acupuncture is interesting, Laura's first-hand accounts of her clients' dramatic recovery are even more so.

“I recently started working with a young woman who unfortunately has suffered from ME, acne and very sensitive skin since her youth.

At some point her skin became so bad that she hadn't left the house for three years, and although she improved after switching to organic matter, she was still prone to torches that made her incredibly scared.

I started treating her twice a week, and after only three weeks her skin had improved dramatically, as had her self-esteem.

After experiencing a little flare-up due to stress at work, we had a short session that focused on the areas affected. The next morning it calmed down and was healed within a few days.

She now visits her only once a month, and along with the lifestyle and nutritional recommendations that I give, the results are effectively maintained. "

Pai also uses these relaxing and restful powers in his facial treatments with skin trust through the use of the sister technique of acupuncture, acupressure.
