It was an honor for me to take the place of Pure Beauty Pro in this month’s regular customer Q&A role in Pure Beauty .
The question I was asked was regularly asked by frustrated beauty consumers. So I thought I would share my advice here if you know someone who has a similar problem.
Q. I suffer from acne, but all of the products I have tried leave my skin dry and irritated. What can I do?
A. First correct your cleaning program.
Foaming face detergents or detergent-based cleaners are best avoided, especially if they contain sodium lauryl sulfate ("SLS") or cocamidopropyl betaine, which can free the skin from natural oils.
The skin then produces excessive sebum to replace it, which clogs the pores and causes breakouts.
The problem with most spot treatments is that the chemically heavy formulas are so strong that they dry the skin and expose and aggravate it.
When it comes to keeping acne-prone skin at bay, less is more! Find a gentle cleansing cream, non-alcoholic toner, and moisturizer that are right for you, and don't use them too often.
We recommend cleaning and tightening in the evening and letting the skin breathe at night. Wash your face with water in the morning and then use a light moisturizer.
Pais Rice Plant & Rosemary BioAffinity Toner and Geranium & Thistle Combination Cream are a great duo for skin prone to blemishes.
The active plant extracts oily areas while balancing the hydration and reduces the pore size.
To treat existing stains, dab them on a cotton swab with lavender oil once a day. It has the same antibacterial properties as traditional tea tree oil, but is less hard.
Hope for help!
