On the occasion of Earth Day, one of my favorite blogs, The Beauty Shortlist organized the Green Beauty Week to present everything natural and organic.
I spoke to the editor Fiona earlier this week to share my five most important beauty items for deserted islands.
If you're dreaming of a sun-drenched beach, read on!
1. Pai Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser
I can't go to sleep without clean skin – not even on a desert island! My super sensitive skin needs something gentle yet effective. Our iconic cleaner is perfect as it removes all traces of dirt without removing the skin's natural oils. The rich cream would be my little bit of luxury in the middle of the wilderness!
2. Udos Choice Oil
The skin would be hit on a blistered beach, so it would be even more important to condition it inside out! I take an omega supplement every day because it is not only anti-inflammatory (and great for sensitive skin) but also provides the skin with the essential building blocks it needs to stay healthy and radiant. There are many great blends – Udo's choice is my current favorite.
3. Holistic silk eye mask
I am the type of person who needs 8 hours of sleep – everything else really shows up on my skin and it can often be more sensitive and reactive. Without curtains to tighten, an eye mask would be the next best way to stop these tropical rays and disturb my sleep. Holistic silk masks are the best I've found for a full blackout, and the lavender fill is a dream to help you fall asleep.
4. Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil
This is an absolute bathroom cabinet that is indispensable and an amazing multitasker – everyone needs one! The entire range of Omegas 3,6,7 & 9 keeps the skin at its best. Skin tone, clarity, smoothness and radiance – you name it, rosehip oil improves it. It also speeds up the skin's natural healing process, making it an incredible sunburn treatment if you are not in the shade for too long.
5. Bentley Organics Shampoo
All of this sand, wind and sea salt would be a nightmare for my sensitive scalp! I'm always looking for certified organic shampoos that really work (really great organic hair care is notoriously hard to find), and Bentley Organics is the best line of products I've tried and that has beautiful, clean hair with no nasty or irritating Supplies ingredients.
